The seller clearly stated that time does not stand still when the load is removed. But it is so and it sucks! So I just returned another version of these gauges (same OEM board I'm sure) which had a very nice backlit display which this one doesn't have. Why? I did this because the seller of these gauges said (twice) in the questions section that this gauge measures wall time, not the number of minutes it senses the load. You need this time if you want to calculate useful things like kWh/day, week, year, etc. (you know the things that tell you how big your bill can be). The people who sell Kill-A-Watt meters understand this well, and this is how they implement their prediction function (but if you had a wall timer, you could take kWh and divide by minutes on the wall to get kWh/hour) . . Minute. From there you can predict the expected amount of kWh per day, week, month, year, etc.). Of course you can start the timer if you use this device on your mobile phone or whatever, but what if you use multiple counters? Do you also need to run multiple timers? What a problem! The only feature this meter had that this one didn't has was a backup battery, which is admittedly a good thing, but to be honest I'm not sure it's good enough to make up for this device's crappy dark display . Anyway, wouldn't it be great if they just made the meter do what most people want it to do? 1) Battery backup 2) Large, clear, backlit display 3) Prediction function - Admittedly, this is probably better than I expected, but easy to do 4) If it's not a prediction function, at least measure the time that the device has records electricity consumption in kWh so you can make your own predictions. Why are these functions so hard to get in a meter? I don't know of any meter that has them all. For example, the Kill-A-Watt P4 is very expensive, but it doesn't even have a backup battery! And back to this device: It's so frustrating that you can't find in the seller or in the manual how the time function actually works. works before purchase. No one seems to know exactly what the timer feature even does, but the time is plastered on every screen like it means a lot! Anyway, my tirade is over I guess. I'm just saying if I was in control the ax would fly if something like this happened. Someone who can't even write a proper manual shouldn't write a manual. If a seller doesn't know how their own product works, they shouldn't answer questions about it.
