This device allows you to clone a disk to a library image that can be saved to a larger library drive and restored to the original drive from which it came or to which it was written if a new hard drive is available. It is very fast, much faster than free hard drive cloning software solutions. I had two of these at work and liked them so much that I had to buy one for home use so I could be sure I had reliable backups of all the hard drives on my various computer systems that I use for development software. It uses a proprietary library image format, but that doesn't bother me as it can restore the image if needed.
