Predominantly violet and magenta light - wrong UV

I have returned the device I received. I have four real UV lights for the displays. I needed something smaller and portable so I gave it a try. It simply emits no UV, or very little true UV to be useful. It emits a beautiful purple-violet light and appears to emit little to no UV, which can be mistaken for true UV blacklight. It illuminates white and orange surfaces but does not create a real fluorescent effect. True UV blacklight creates a mechanism whereby UV light excites chemicals in an object, causing them to emit visible light. This mechanism creates the usual glow or neon effect we associate with black UV light at parties and concerts. This light just doesn't emit enough ultraviolet light to be useful in all but the most limited of situations.
