Review on Orange Men's Vibram Ascent Insulated M Sneaker Shoes - Enhanced SEO by Ramesh Eastep

Fits well. Choose one size larger than your usual five toe shoe size.

I was able to take these Five Fingers on a real hike for the first time since I bought them about a month ago and they fit and work great. Yes, order one size larger than your usual Five Finger shoe size. I wear a size 40 for the Five Finger KSO and Speed (discontinued) so I took their advice and bought a size 41 for these Insulated Trek Ascents. With Injinji socks, the shoes are very tight, not uncomfortable, but snug. I took them for a hike in Red Rock, Nevada and the outside temperature was 50 degrees and by the evening it had dropped to 40 degrees and my feet were hot. . The hike we did had high steps and loose gravel and the shoes gripped really well, as did the climbing shoes (ala Evolv or Mad Rock). They helped a lot on the descent where there was a combination of loose gravel and rocks going down. The extra thickness of the sole was good as I was able to step over some of the rougher rocks more easily. I used to have to be more careful of where I was stepping when camping in CSR as sometimes taking the wrong wrong step on a rock could hit the right nerve in my feet and cause an instant surge of pain and weakness/numbness (like when you have your funny Bone hit on elbow). It was good with Trek Ascents. Full disclosure, I wear Five Finger Toe shoes all the time and have been for about 6 years so your experience may vary.

Pros
  • After the hack, settle in. I wear them every day!
Cons
  • Tight fit compared to other Vibram models. Maybe you should go half a size bigger
