Review on 🐠 Eheim PHL207184, 4.00 x 6.00 x 4.00, Black: Superior Quality Aquarium Accessory by James Kapihe

We have set up a 26 gallon aquarium in the main kitchen/family area. It is very important that the pump and other accessories are silent because we spend a lot of time here. My previous pump was a $25 diaphragm pump, but it was too loud. After a lot of reading and research I got this pump hoping it would be quieter. It seemed a little quieter at first, I didn't take measurements, but when I ran the old and new pumps side by side there was a noticeable difference. . However, to my pleasant surprise, it became quieter after a few weeks of use, some say they break over time. I placed it over a thick piece of cloth over an anti-vibration pad in the corner of the tank. It's so quiet you have to bend down to hear it, and the sponge filter's bubbles are about the same size so you can barely hear it. We don't need a lot of pumping power, which can also help. . It has two exits and comes with hoses and connectors to combine them into one exit, which we have done and also kept the exit to a minimum. It currently only feeds an air stone which can be cleaned and disassembled (layers of cloth between ceramics) which produces larger bubbles but also offers less resistance so the pump doesn't have to work as hard. This likely contributes to quiet operation. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and it was exactly what I was hoping for.
