The reason I bought this mount was because the power connector is on the side. This allowed me to get the windshield mount as close to the headliner (well, actually the rear-view mirror) as possible. The cable connector for the standard assembly is at the top. So I couldn't mount it flush with the bottom of the rearview mirror (2017 Highlander). The only problem is that removing the camera from the mount is very painful. If you want to take the camera out of the car. The design isn't the best and you end up removing the mount from the windshield. Otherwise it works fine.
