Review on 🚴 Optimized Kool Stop V Brake Pad Inserts for Bicycles by Eric Schwalbe

I use them on the V-brakes I put on my Surly LHT which commutes to work every day. These brake pads are the best I've had on a wet-condition bike and minimize the loud, sometimes embarrassing bike brake squeal that can be generated in or out of the rain. The leading edge of the pad (relative to the rotation of the wheel) is designed to repel water, dirt and grime that might be on the rim when it rains, allowing the rest of the pad to function on a drier, cleaner surface. Rims. Aside from the disc brakes, which have their own issues and that would mean I would still have to get a new bike frame, these pads are the best I've found. I'm so glad they're on Prime now for times like this when I haven't been able to come to LBS.
