Review on πŸšͺ A29 Hardware Medium-Sized Cast Iron Speakeasy Door Grill / Grille with Viewing Door, Black Powder Coat Finish by Jason Cavett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Welded crookedly and does not seal air

Unlike others I didn't find it too small for a 36 door but the one I received was welded crooked and let light and air through when closed (LOTS OF AIR GOES IN) I was so disappointed with the return and might try again. I mean, unless it's welded directly, the door won't form a seal. Has anyone else had this problem besides me? UPDATE: I ordered a second one and this one was much better. Not welded crooked. Upgrade to 4 stars. Also note that my door was steel like most and after you cut the hole you could see white foam on the inside of the door. So I used scrap sheets and cut out some boards to line up the inside of the tunnel that separates the front grille from the tailgate. It even looks great in my modern blue six panel door!

Pros
  • Includes fastening material such as screws. INSTALLATION STEPS: To attach screws to any wood surface, mark and drill pilot holes with a bit appropriate for the mounting hardware. Put a drop of oil on the tip of the screw, insert the screw and tighten it. Do not overtighten the screw as it may break. A wall anchor may be required when mounting the product to a hard surface. They are available at hardware stores
Cons
  • Slightly torn
