Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very reliable hardware, but not easy to install on Windows 7

This review is for the WIE7265 model. The hardware is very high quality, which is why I give it five stars. The general five-star reviews and plug-and-play claims most likely describe installing on Windows 10. I recommend discarding the mini-CD that came with the product and getting the software direct from Intel; Install Intel Driver and Support Assistant, a great product that will find the right Intel driver and software for you. You don't have to throw away the instructions, the product does not come with it. Difficult installation and lack of instructions deserve one star. Therefore, my overall rating for the product is three stars, but with the tips in this review, the product can work very well and reliably on Windows 7. Big tip: On Windows 7, before installing the Intel driver and software, you should verify your system does not have the following two system updates: KB3161608KB3172605 If one or both of the above system updates are present, uninstall them before installing the Intel Install drivers and software from Intel if you want Bluetooth to work. Also, if you want Bluetooth to work, make sure you connect the included cable from the wireless board to an available internal USB port on the motherboard. There are several articles available online that will tell you how to check if a specific knowledge base is installed and how to remove it. If you skip this step, you may see your Bluetooth device connecting but not working. I bought this unit specifically for the Bluetooth capability and it works perfectly with Bose OE Soundlink Bluetooth headphones once the Intel driver is properly installed. Hope the review helps. improve the product and help those still using Windows 7.
