I have no complaints about the Cadet faucet or the quality of these parts, I just want the parts to match my Cadet faucet. a bathtub faucet hidden in a ceramic tile wall with no documentation of its model. I was able to identify the brand as American Standard using a Danco Stock Finder, but not the exact model of the "Cadet" series (there are at least 4 different options). THIS pair of valve stems is designed for faucets with both hot and cold valves. which open in OPPOSITE directions. Also, the splined shafts will NOT fit the handles of an AS faucet with hot and cold water valves that open counter-clockwise. Nothing on American Standard's support site or in this list makes this clear; no faucet index to details. I'm assuming from the comments that 066288-0070A is for Cadet faucets with two anti-clockwise opening taps. Not sure if they are for kitchen/laundry or bath/shower faucets. ------ Repair: After turning off the water, it was easy to remove the valve stems. The hardest part was loosening the metal balls of the ceramic cross. - Handles assembled with takeaway handles. I fired the PB Blaster through the threaded holes in the grip screws and from the rear with the valves fully open and let it run for half an hour. I tightened each ball and tapped it with a rubber mallet, rotating it 90 degrees between hits. It took 2 minutes for each handle. The valve lock nuts have 2 flats instead of 6 flats. I used an adjustable wrench and a rubber mallet to loosen the nuts. Seats required a 7/32" hex wrench and a "cheater" crescent wrench to swap seats. That's when I discovered that the repair kit was the wrong model. I was able to substitute simpler parts - long seats and washers. Both parts are available from Revain: B0040HOR2Q and B000DZH8V6. Other manufacturers' seats will work, but in my opinion the brushed chrome finish AS seats are more durable than other manufacturers' solid brass versions. (Kitchen/Laundry room models use a short seat: B004JK1YB6). I used a wire brush to remove limescale from the threads of the original stems, removed the fragments of the old Nu-Seals, cleaned the stems of old grease, and lubricated them and the replacement Nu-Seals with sanitary silicone (sanitary silicone is food grade and safe for any plumbing repair) I installed the domed washers with their cones toward the ends of the stem and snapped the gaskets into place. With each valve fully open, I screwed the shafts into the body and lay down. ka pulled them tight. enough to be sure, t. Hey sat down. At this point I closed the valves and turned on the water supply. No leaking or dripping. I cleaned the grip assemblies, screwed them back into place, and snapped the H/C buttons onto the grips. Actual run time: less than 1 hour. Search for spare parts: 4 hours. Total elapsed time 2 days 5 hours. :-OUT
