I bought these to air out the 33" BFGs on my Cherokee when I was running 4 wheels. I like the foolproof and simple design. Absolutely no moving parts. Just remove the valve cap, screw on these deflators and they hold the valve stem to let the air out. To stop deflation, simply unscrew the deflators until they no longer press on the valve stems. When you have reached the desired pressure, remove the deflators and screw them together into a block. When blowing air, I usually bolt them all to the tires at once. Then I wait about a minute while they let LOTS of air out. I then go back and unscrew the first deflator installed since it was the longest and quickly check where the pressure is with a good gauge. When it's close to what I want, I quickly move the tires back together and unscrew the bleeders to stop the deflation process. It is then sufficient to simply slowly deflate each tire to reach the desired pressure. Light lemon juice with peas. why do i like it First, there are no moving parts to wear out. They are made from heavy brass so will last a long time. Second, you don't have to loosen or remove valve stems and risk losing them. If you've lost a tiny valve stem and don't have a replacement, you've just screwed the dog. Third, the four deflators are screwed and unscrewed together, forming a single unit. It even comes with a key ring. Easy to pack, easy to carry. sooooo. Are there better and more expensive deflators? Yes. But most of them require you to loosen the stems, as I mentioned earlier. Don't really like this idea. Some let you check the pressure while the tire is deflated, but for the price, I just spin mine a few turns and check it with a pressure gauge. So easy. Don't think about these things, folks. Simplicity and reliability is what you should look for. These deflators screw together and are packaged in a size slightly larger than a felt tip pen. They may take a few more minutes to use than the fancier types, but in the extra time you SHOULD check your gear as you go. Food for thought and my 2 cents.
