Review on πŸ“» Cobra MR HH350 FLT Handheld Floating VHF Radio – 6W, Submersible, Noise-Canceling Mic, Backlit LCD Display, NOAA Weather, Memory Scan, Grey by Steven Notsinneh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There are no perfect 2-way consumer radios - that's okay.

Cobra still hasn't fixed the battery indicator problem that appeared at least in 2015. My 2018 model's Li-Ion battery showed a full charge right out of the box but died less than an hour during installation and took 5 hours to fully charge so it wasn't fully charged as listed. I decided to check the LCD battery status indicator on my new 2018 radio on initial build because I wanted to see if Cobra fixed the "always fully charged" indicator. They're not on two of my radios, but that doesn't bother me. I bought my first HH450 in January 2016 and I love how the radio works in all modes so I bought another MR HH450 in July 2018. No volume problems on either radio. I can use VHF or GMRS for a full day on a single charge (8 hours on high power and 12 on low power) and I carry a spare set of AA alkaline batteries. Requires (5) AA batteries if you choose disposable batteries. If you have a realistic expectation of range (between 1 and 5 miles, depending on terrain and obstacles) and don't mind the LCD battery gauge, you'll love the Cobra HH450's features and performance.
