I came up with this after reading all these reviews especially the bad ones which I will address. I assembled it in about 8 hours, it's time consuming but you have to take your time and be careful or you'll ruin everything. The wood is fairly strong, precision laser cut, and many of the pieces have extra detail in case you come across it, but don't. There is sandpaper to clean the edges, use it. There's wax to lubricate the pieces to make them fit together easier, use that. The hammer you make is a great tool. Use it instead of any other tool, it won't let you break anything. The instructions are very clear, read them carefully and they will help you. If something goes wrong, read them again, sometimes some things look like others. To reply to bad reviews: instructions are complete, all steps, both lines. The thread cutting step says: cut in half, pull two threads, cut when done, done. The instructions are not hieroglyphs, they illustrate pretty well exactly what needs to be done, step by step. It's supposed to be heavy, it's not a child's toy. This is a functional model, not a real tool. It can be tuned and played but it won't sound like the original which would cost thousands of dollars understand what you are buying here. You wouldn't buy a model train and get mad if you couldn't bring it to Cleveland. Overall I found it fun and challenging and it looks great.
