It says "Red Lead" right on pencil. It is NOT lead. It is crayon inside a pencil body. Hard to sharpen since it keeps breaking like a crayon. Very expensive for what you actually get. Took a gamble, and lost. So I'm here to warn you to not buy it. Anyone who posted a review and said it was good, is not a real carpenter. Maybe a weekend warrior.If you can sharpen it, it will wear very fast (like a crayon would).So, my quest continues. To find a marker that I can mark wet pressure treated lumber…

I bought these to take to college with me . I like the Red lead which is easy to see and mark with , and as well these are super easy to sharpen. The ruler on them is great for small , quick measurements and I gave out a couple to my classmates who love them as well. Thank you RevMark!

When I do outdoor construction there are times that a red mark is easier to see. I bought a package of these and gave some to the guys I work with. We all had the same problem, the red lead breaks very easily so I was constantly having to sharpen the pencil. I’m going to throw them away and go back to the Hanson pencils. They’re not red but they don’t break in normal use.

These are good quality high contrast pencils. A bit more expensive than the plain carpenter pencils, but worth it for certain applications.

Unfortunately, I wanted black lead, not red lead. But the red lead will be useful. Also ordered the black ones. Good carpenter pencils.

Pencils lead is impossible to sharpen as it is very soft. I don’t normally write reviews but I’m very disappointed as I was hoping this to be a good product especially for the price. Normally you can get 72 pencils for 15-25 dollars. These are 25 for 15. As a carpenter who uses pencils daily I will not be able to use them.

The red colored lead is soft and breaks easily making this pencil hard to use and easy to go through multiple pencils quickly. WASTE OF MONEY!

Marking material (be it called lead or crayon) is so soft that it renders the pencil unusable. It either breaks when attempting to sharpen it or mark with it the marking material breaks. Waste of money and waste of time.

Very good product,I can see red alot better, maybe make these pencils in different colors, like orange, green ,etc. That's my feedback.

I really like these pencils, the lead is just right for marking. I read reviews were the lead breaks, just sharpen the pencil correctly. The red show up on wood, laminate/mica and is easy to sand out of wipe off.

Really like them only thing is let’s little bit soft and they wear out real fast but other than that they’re good Thanks for attention.
