These are a fantastic pair of hiking shoes, a little snug in the toe box but I always have that problem. They are definitely waterproof! I wore them while operating a pressure washer and my socks came away dry. The materials are all very nice the and they came with extra laces which brings me hope that the shoes themselves are going to last through the laces which isn't a stretch based on the feel of the construction.
