I finally managed to clean the RV's water heater. I went to Youtube DIY video how to do it. It was an invaluable tool when flushing a 6 gallon Atwood water heater. It's a bit flexible so I could fit it into both the drain and blower holes to flush out sediment and debris. I have a 1997 Class C Van and I bought it used. So much scale! It came and came! I saved the water to use for my plants. After flushing, I used the same nozzle to pour industrial cleaning vinegar into the tank through the pressure valve hole (replacing the drain plug, of course). You pour 3 gallons of vinegar into the tank and then turn the pressure valve back on. Turn on the city water to fill the tank with 3 gallons of water so you have a 50/50 water/vinegar mixture. Then turn on the water heater for an hour. Then open the drain valve to drain the excess (be careful: very hot water will come out), then leave it open while you open the drain and pour out all the vinegar. You can reuse this water for your acid loving plants in small amounts at a time, such as B. roses, palm trees, no desert plants. After all the vinegar has drained, use this wand to flush the tank through the drain until it is completely clean. Replace the drain plug, turn on the city water and flush all faucets, showers and toilets so there is no vinegar in the system. You can see the whole process on Youtube at RV Geeks. This wand also cleans toilet bowls, although there is a better product for that. Very useful for adding water pressure to the hose for all other types of water treatment, so highly recommended.
