Very disappointed. I bought these to apply polycryl to a shelf I was just painting. Sure, the stain probably lifted the texture a bit, but after sanding (before applying the poly) the wood felt smooth. The first layer of resin rose well and I sanded it again to smooth out the brush strokes. So far no problems. However, when applying the second layer, parts of the bristles begin to detach and get stuck in the polyethylene. Not whole bristles, just their pieces. I've tried to select them as I found them, but apparently not all. So now I have a shelf with a few bristles here and there permanently stuck in the PVC. It is not clear if this was caused by the bristles getting caught in the wood fibers and breaking out, or if the bristles were somehow broken through the polyacrylic. I don't care anyway; not happy with the end result. But that's what I get for the $5 brush set.
