Those who now have a MacBook 12 and are debating whether to make a transition will benefit most from reading my evaluation. It was getting annoying how slow it was compared to my friend's MacBook 12 2022 with a m3 processor and 8 GB of memory, the screen is too small (for tables and writing), and I needed a faster unlock. After reading some evaluations of the MacBook Air with M1 and taking a look at a live demo of the MacBook Air with Intel in the store to check out the display, size, and keyboard, I made up my mind to buy one. I went with the entry-level model, which had a 256 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, and 7 CPU cores. Just got it yesterday and "shifted" last night. Here are some initial thoughts: My fingers "fall into" the keyboard differently, there is more space between the keys, the "left" and "right" arrows are smaller than usual, I keep accidentally switching the language with Control-command (probably because the setting has migrated), and I haven't gotten used to using Fn yet, but I'm getting used to it. Instead of using physical buttons, you can adjust the keyboard's backlighting from the main menu. I conducted a thorough scan with Kaspersky anti-virus and not only did I manage to noticeably warm it up, but the battery also died quite quickly. The savings are immediately apparent, even though I didn't do any testing or "driving" today. It used to be really frustrating to have to wait until you managed to type a message, but now that's completely eliminated thanks to Teams' lightning-fast communication. According to reports, Kaspersky ran 10 times more quickly (full check). Fast power on/restart times; fast Touch ID login; rapid website password entry. I have no use for iPhone or iPad applications that I have not tried. It's time for the required software to be awarded. I primarily rely on web-based tools and the Microsoft Office suite. Pleased with the results; tasks may be completed more quickly and with less discomfort. To add a little, I will say that "lags" with Microsoft Office (Tims) are still occasionally seen. I'm still content with the change.
