I'm deducting 2 stars for an flaw and missing attitude that I think are unforgivable. Compartment for 520 pages. However, the output tray holds fewer pages - maybe around 300-325 or so. And when the output tray is full, the ENTIRE machine freezes. A piece of paper gets stuck under the toner, 2 or 3 sides are bunched in the back door, and the piece is REALLY bunched near the back and that piece is very difficult to remove. We'll have to keep needle nose pliers close to the device to remove this piece. We did a good job with this, but it takes 3-4 minutes to clear all the jams. The output tray cannot (1) fit smaller than the input tray and (2) fill up causing a serious paper jam. We print LOTS of 500+ print jobs and basically need to keep an eye on the printer to avoid bad paper jams. This takes a lot of time. NO SETTING: Earlier Brother printers (and other brands) have a "Continue Toner" setting that allows you to continue printing even after the "Toner Empty" warning appears. With my old brother, I could get 200-300 more deductions after the warning came up. This model does NOT have this setting and will not print until you install a new cartridge. After removing the cartridge, I can hear/feel that there is more toner in it, but I cannot use it. This is a waste of toner and money. Otherwise the printer prints very sharp and clear and very fast (I ran 2 tests with 500 sheets and got 47.75 and 47.85 pages per minute). Setup was quick and easy, and printing is very inexpensive.
