I honestly got these because they have 4 settings.I like the "Alarm Sound for 10 seconds" setting when the door opens. In my case I don't want anyone opening a door that could potentially let the cat out!Other similar simple alarms seemed to have 2 settings: alarm when open, or chime when open. In my case, I want to be woken up or alerted to when this door opens, I want the door opener to be alerted, and I want the cat to be alerted so she runs away from the open door alarming for 10 seconds, even if you close the door!In my case, this alarm fit better when I installed it upside down. But it looks great and performs exactly the same. I installed it about a foot up from the ground, so the cat scarpers off if it's around the open door!I will use the rest of the ones I bought on other doors and windows! These are smaller than I imagined! Very small, and loud!I like that it has a low battery warning too!
