I got this to give more room to dry long clothes like my wife's nightgowns. Clips for socks and underwear were also an added bonus. This thing worked great for a month until last night I was trying to hang three nightgowns and a couple of t-shirts out to dry and the plastic support piece holding the top shelf open broke and it all fell to the floor. I had to seal it with tape so I could dry my nightgowns and put everything else on another shelf. I never hang anything too heavy on the hanger, just regular clothes like my cotton work shirts, t-shirts and my wife's nightgowns which are pretty light as it's been warm lately. This rack should be able to support what I had on it and then some. I'm disappointed in the quality of this rack and my refund window only closed 4 days ago so I'm really not happy with it. It feels like I've been scammed out of $40. I gave 2 stars because the sock and underwear hooks are a good idea.
