This rug is so soft and beautiful. I ordered a blue queen plaid. While it's pretty enough to use as a bedspread, I still place it on top of a comforter to keep it clean and provide an extra layer of protection. The blanket came out of the bag ready to use. These photos were taken less than 5 minutes after unboxing. No smell, no wrinkles. Ideal. The box it came in was badly taped and the zipped bag didn't seem airtight, so it's possible they packaged it so the duvet can breathe. I've put them on my wish lists and gift lists for others. We slept under this duvet several nights before writing this review. It wasn't very cold yet, but I think it kept us warm. The red check twin would have been perfect for our spare bed or toss to Sunday football watching. I want to use a solid, darker color for the exterior, as I remember we had an "army blanket" (all wool) that we always took with us on the 4th of July. It never seemed to get dirty or moldy and magically never needed washing. After reading wool attributes I understand why. We couldn't be happier.
