Great tool but needs some adjustment
My carpenters have found that the hard plastic pads leave small but noticeable gouges in the wood when using the tool on very soft pine. On very hard, smooth-surfaced wood, the hard pads would slip and not hold the wood. So Fastcap sent a pack of grips to use on the pads and it made a big difference, but the grips had to be changed frequently. The solution is to make a block with large rubber or silicon pads.
