There's no need to say anything about the toilet valve without getting into the realm of really bad jokes. When I checked the local big store with arrogant mediocre help was out of long lasting crackers and I wouldn't waste gas driving to another big store to find another empty shelf space so I ordered one and saved. a few dollars with you. There are several different crackers available and homework needs to be done before ordering. The durable ones are definitely worth the extra money. It has two possible mounting options; one that requires cutting out the annular section surrounding the riser when the toilet has small mounting tabs on either side of the riser. I've seen people try both mounts and it didn't work. A new flapper will only seal if the edge it seals to is smooth; there is a kit for sticking on another landing area; A quick check before ordering can save you from ordering the wrong part. (Edit; July 2021) After over 7 years the damper started leaking and when looking for a replacement I came across my old review. I have ordered two more in case they are no longer available. The old damper had some mineral deposits and a few small surface anomalies where it sat. Until a new replacement came I used wet 240 grit sandpaper on both the clasp and the brass seat and it no longer leaks. I think this product is by far the best at an affordable price.
