After pressing harder than deemed necessary. It seems normal in blue color USB 3.0. The rubber/PVC is a bit stiff in the cable, but that could be because it's new. The ultra-slim HP Folio G1 has only two USB-C ports. When I first tried to plug it in, it held far from where it felt like it would "sit". but i tried again and pushed very hard. and it snapped and snuggled snugly against the outside of the laptop case. I didn't know USB-C had shock resistance in its spec. It's not damaged, it only took two clicks to put it back in place. The first is what you use with USB 2.0 ports or regular USB 3.0 micro or mini ports. However, there is a lot more dissipation with this. Likely to prevent it from falling out or a "gentle" pull from being accidentally removed. To get it out of the nest you need to tinker.
