It is larger than expected; but, with 2 cats, I am happy with it.Unit sits on floor and usb cord just barely goes to the above kitchen counter plug in. I have no wiggle room for placement.Cats instinctively prefer water away from where they have their food. So, at this point, with two new cats: one I got a week prior just started drinking out of the fountain today. Yayy!The second new Kitty is far more skittish. Water is very important, so, I keep rinsing 2 ceramic bowls placed in different spots until 2nd kitty becomes comfortable in their new home.Easy to assemble. 2 extra charcoal filters supplied. Stainless bowl and top cover helps me keep the unit clean.Very quiet. I rinse it and top off with cool fresh water every few days, until I figure it all out.Here's hoping for 2 healthy happy cats, and a long life water fountain.
