Review on High-Quality 42g/1.5oz Scarlet Mica Powder Pigment for Epoxy, Paint, Color, Art | Black Diamond Pigments by Gelin Battle

Scarlet Red is not good for resins, oils and water based materials

I've tried using this in epoxy but it doesn't mix well and doesn't hold color well. If the resin is heated beyond the recommended levels, the resin will turn slightly scarlet. However, the color doesn't last. It breaks down into the individual pigments that make up this color: one has a purplish-pale hue, the other is slightly orange, and the other is deep pink. All stripes. Out of curiosity, I put some powder in the coconut oil for a bath bomb try, but that didn't work either. Then I tried mixing directly with water and it didn't work.

Pros
  • Color Mediums and Additives
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
