Hot Pink Not Red

I love Black Diamond pigments and they usually have amazing resin colors but this scarlet doesn't even come close to what the pictures show. It was hot pink when I mixed it with the resin and when it cured it was still more pink than red. Red was really needed for the project and unfortunately it wasn't. So back to my search

  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Pinkish-RED

When I bought this the description said the dried powder would look pink but the product would look red. With a name like scarlet fever, I thought roughly, it's red. No, it's pink. It's a nice color but not what I'm looking for😒Red is what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for pink-red, orange-red, brown-red, but real red. It's very difficult to find. A friend suggested Colourcraf Brusho Colors in Brilliant Red. This will be my next Red purchase if I can find it πŸ˜€

Pros
  • Art Supplies, Drawing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Scarlet Red is not good for resins, oils and water based materials

I've tried using this in epoxy but it doesn't mix well and doesn't hold color well. If the resin is heated beyond the recommended levels, the resin will turn slightly scarlet. However, the color doesn't last. It breaks down into the individual pigments that make up this color: one has a purplish-pale hue, the other is slightly orange, and the other is deep pink. All stripes. Out of curiosity, I put some powder in the coconut oil for a bath bomb try, but that didn't work either. Then I tried…
