My nail is damaged, I'm restoring it with a cream. I have to leave the cream on for a while until it dissolves. I use cots to keep the cream in place. I can continue to use my finger without fear of the cream getting on my computer keyboard, piano, clothes, etc. I also use these fingertips in the shower to keep the plasters on my fingers from getting wet and coming off. And if I have an open wound that I don't want to cover with a bandage but needs to be dipped in something I don't want to get on the wound. I was pleasantly surprised when I first used one of these beds. I was used to cribs that lay flat on my finger. They have what I would call a wave that allows my finger to breathe and feel less trapped. It's more comfortable than the non-ripple ones, but the band at the bottom fits snugly around the finger. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to use fingertips!
