Let me start by saying that the last thing I needed was another safety razor. I think what I wanted more than anything was a Gillette safety razor. A lot of people complain about the "origin" of razor parts, but in this case I don't care. If it's a $500 pair of shoes, then yes. I bought this beautiful razor from Revain for only $19. Today was my first shave and it went great. I would rate it as moderate-medium-aggressive. Certainly not as effective as the bevel razor, but definitely worthy as a daily razor. The blades supplied - presumably new branded Astras (also from the Russian manufacturer Gillette) - work perfectly. The only downside, if any, is the slightly slippery grip. Honestly, it's a thing of simple beauty and perfect weight, but it lacks any really deep knurling. Honestly for the money you would be hard pressed to find another three piece safety razor that performs better. I've seen threads claiming the head is a German made grinder and even better! Overall I give it a SOLID 5 STARS. You really can't go wrong with this.
