My husband laughed when I got him a ladle that looks like a swan, but he later admitted that it was really cool because it didn't fall over into his soup (he loves to make chilli). Dishwasher safe, no staining so far (despite being used in red chilli) and it's cute. Total win. The only "downside" (and this is super minor) is that it always tries to "pop up" (stand up) when it is lying in the top rack of the dishwasher. But it's no big deal, I just put the top of the ladle under another item and it's all good.
