Review on Set Of 6 Stackable Porcelain Cappuccino Cups With Saucers, Metal Stand And 4 Oz. Capacity - Perfect For Espresso, Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino And Tea - White by Scott Rose

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than expected, however, there is a "but ".

I expected these to feel like thin, cheap cups and saucers. Let's come back to that.Firstly, out of the box they were packaged in a way that someone seriously thought about minimizing shipping breakage. Nice, secure, safe job. So, I gave them a wash made an espresso and put the rest back in the rack. They look great, and stacking everything vertically means a very small footprint on the counter. That is actually something I didn't appreciate until I put them on my counter! Size wise, they are absolutely perfect for a double shot, and look even better with that shot in them! See my pics. Now, when you feel them, you realize that these are not your usual thin, cheap cups. They feel solid, with decent weight. Not only that, the sound they make when you put cup onto saucer is that of stonewear, not clinky china or porcelain. It's got that gravely, stoney, grindy kinda sound that is surprisingly satisfying, and makes you want to keep picking your cup up and replacing it so everyone notices how good your coffee cup is! And if the shot in it is just as good then you're in for a satisfying espresso. Enjoy. Now I did say in the title, "but". Well, it's a tiny thing which doesn't really bother me, but I gotta mention it. This is a review after all. The word "espresso" is on both sides of each cup. It is not just printed on though, the word is actually embossed into the surface, then the white color for the lettering is added into the emboss. This means that it is possible for some inconsistencies in the lettering. If you look at my close up picture you'll notice that the "dot" in the 2nd e is filled in and there is a bit of white missing from the "o". The full word is perfect on the other side of this particular cup, but there are one or two similar "blobs" on other cups. Now I know some will want absolute perfection, but to me these gliches give more of a hand made feel so I don't mind at all. I kinda like it! But, in the interest of good reviewing I had to tell you.
