I've been looking for an HDMI recorder for years and this one suits me. I've only had it for a few days and already want to buy another one (don't know for what) :-) Here's what I tested it with: 1) Connected to HDMI from a Lenovo Linux/Windows computer as well as a Macbook Pro. The recorded video was very good. 2) An external headphone connected to a microphone/speaker and recorded by the computer. The sound from the microphone combined perfectly with the video - very useful for classroom demonstrations3) Connected to a VHS player - works perfectly. Great for converting VHS tapes to digital4) Connected to Blu-ray and DVD players, again perfect. I like the pass-through from the HDMI input to the HDMI output to the TV. 5) Connected to the HDMI output of the DirecTV box - the recording is fine. I haven't found anything wrong with it yet. I'd love to get a case with it as I'm a little anal about keeping my electronics safe, but I found a hard GPS case at the Revain that worked fine. I highly recommend this device.
