Review on πŸ’§ Grundfos GRU-595916 595916: High-Performing Water Pump for Efficient Plumbing Systems by John Eaton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's worth the effort - don't focus on saving energy

I've done a lot of research on this. It's not ideal, but it's clearly a great option for hot water, and you won't have to wait a minute or more. There are 2 pumps, both from Grundfos. The other is Watts Blue, which is sold at Lowes and other stores. The Grundfos guarantee is twice as long. I was told that Grundfos has more brass parts and is therefore a bit more expensive and that's probably why the warranty is longer. Yes, cold water can be a little warm. I place the bypass valve in the less commonly used double sink situation. I have a 2 story house so I put another cross on it. I've had the device for 3 months now and no problems. Calm. You can set the timer to turn on and off throughout the day. Mine is set to just turn off when we go to bed and turn on again in the morning. A lot of research is being done on whether this saves energy or not. In my opinion, this is not an energy saving device. What can be saved by using water is offset by a small electric pump. At the end of the day, it's all about being able to open a faucet and get hot water in a short amount of time. Then it gets hot.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • So far so good
