Well, it delivers hot water instantly, but.

This device is controlled by a manual timer so it can be set to work on a daily schedule. The problem is that when working on one of the "on" schedules, the pump runs constantly. This will of course ensure that hot water is available at all faucets on the hot water line during the 'on' cycle, but the pump will not stop running until the schedule is up. Ideally it should work with a thermostat so it only works when the hot water in the line is below a set temperature, saving energy and wearing…

Reliable pump but no manufacturer support

The pump is well built and I installed it at our second home about 2 months ago. (I have had this model in my other house for over 2 years now and it has worked flawlessly). He gained over 30 minutes in just 14 hours, so setting a time for work and a time off was useless. This came out of the box so it was a faulty timer from the start. I went to the Grundfos website and wrote about the problem but never got an answer from them. Luckily, I have a WiFi switch that I plug the device into and…

Good hot water circulating pump

Grundfos 1/25 HP circulating pump The Comfort series is a good solution for a home that takes a long time to get hot water. I have installed many of these systems over the years and they perform adequately. Installation is easy. Simply disconnect the flexible hot water hose on the outlet side of the water heater. Insert the pump and reconnect the water inlet hose. Place the thermostatic tee under the device that takes the longest to heat the water and reconnect to the device. Make sure the…

Good system, could be a bit hotter

Installed this pump plus four valves. Since we have copper tubing I used a Sharkbite fitting which made the installation much easier. The valves are pretty easy to install except the flexible pipes interfere with each other. The system works well but I wish the valves would have kept the water a little hotter. Warm at 98-100 degrees but not very hot. However, it gets hotter there, which is good. I would buy it again. Update: I've changed this to five stars. Maybe a little hotter, of course, but

It's worth the effort - don't focus on saving energy

I've done a lot of research on this. It's not ideal, but it's clearly a great option for hot water, and you won't have to wait a minute or more. There are 2 pumps, both from Grundfos. The other is Watts Blue, which is sold at Lowes and other stores. The Grundfos guarantee is twice as long. I was told that Grundfos has more brass parts and is therefore a bit more expensive and that's probably why the warranty is longer. Yes, cold water can be a little warm. I place the bypass valve in the less…

Relieves cold, shortens waiting time

The idea is to keep hot water in the line but not fill the cold line with too much recirculated hot water. This is a compromise and the recirculation valve closes when the hot side reaches about 95 degrees. As a result, the cold pipe also has a water temperature that is ideal for quickly washing hands in warm water or washing dishes without using the hot side. I find this handy, but for completely cold water I have to run it for a while as it starts out warm and gets colder as the water flows…

The Grundfos hot water circulation system does the job!

I have a messy 1885 Victorian house in New York, with long hot water pipes that require long waits for hot water, which is not good! My first plan was to install two dedicated hot water return lines that require 1/2" PEX pipes to connect the first floor kitchen and the third floor bathroom. This traditional solution means the hot water is recirculated , so there is always hot water available at the tap Great system but for me this Grundfos UP pump was a good solution as it saved me all the work
