This is amazing! I've had several of these for my 10 and 20 gallons. I have my tanks in my living room which can range from 55f to 100f depending on the time of year. The water temperature never deviates too far from the target temperature of 78-80f. The advice I could give to any newbie considering buying them is this: 1. Make sure it's below the lowest point of your water change line.2. Near a flow point, such as B. a sponge filter or a pump. This allows for better heat dissipation throughout the tank and reduces the chance of "overheating".3. If possible, mount the heater on the side. This allows the heat to rise evenly in the heater. Again, this is done to reduce the chance of "overheating". I haven't had a single "knock on wood" error while following these heater placement guidelines.
