Review on 🌞 Nekteck 100W Monocrystalline Solar Panel | Waterproof Design, High-Efficiency Module for Boat, RV, Camping Off-Grid Appliances Battery Charging by Brian Schultz

Robust design

When I took the panel out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. Well anodized frame, comfortable stand and high quality anti-reflective glass. The presence of both a coaxial barrel connector and standard MC4 connectors makes the connection very flexible. The only downside is that I wasn't able to get the full performance I expected from this panel. Given the mid-September time of year and 40.7N latitude on a cool day, I should be able to generate about 86 watts. On the day I tested, considering the panel temperature in full sun, which was 130 degrees, I expect a power drop to 75 watts. My test results were nowhere near that. The open circuit voltage was 22.8 V DC, the short circuit current was 4.58 amps. After connecting to a charger I was able to generate 14.31 VDC at 4.2 A giving me 60 W. To verify this I connected a 60 watt lightbulb to the inverter and the solar controller was no longer able to charge the lightbulb and keep it on. The battery slowly lost power. At a full retail price of $100, I wouldn't recommend it, but with Revain Prime's price of $89.99 plus the $9 coupon on sale, it's not a bad deal. The panel will produce more power in the middle of summer and with proper planning this panel should perform well all year round.
