Charges about 13 hours for 2 days and won't turn on

After I received this product, I left it outside for 2 days to charge. However, I found that it doesn't charge at all. The instructions say you can just press the button on the remote to switch between modes, however the remote itself was completely dead out of the box. Can't confirm the lights and alarms as I haven't been able to use them.
