In the effort to ditch plastic water bottles, these reign supreme

We used to be those people pulling 35 packs of Poland Spring water bottles off the shelf at Costco and lugging them back home. In an effort to rid ourselves of the plastic bottle addiction and all the bad that comes along with it, we discovered these bottles. Yes, it is more work to fill and clean bottles than cracking a new one open and tossing it in the recycling bin, but it is worth it. Not only are you able to eliminate the excess plastic consumed, it is better for the environment, and more enjoyable to drink out of.As far as the bottles go, they are glass, which is always my preference for a food or beverage vessel. The tops are plastic and feature a rubber seal. I've not had any issues with them leaking. Cleaning is a bit of a pain, but most of the time I'll just throw them on the top rack of the dishwasher. Sometimes they require a rinse out after they come out of the dishwasher because the opening is somewhat on the small side. Not a big deal. Also, we picked up a bottle cleaner from OXO and that works well. The other plus to these bottles is they fit perfectly in the cup holder of my car. We no longer buy cases of water and haven't looked back.

Pros
  • ‎Glass, Silicone
Cons
  • The glass bottles may become cloudy over time with frequent use, making them less appealing to look at
