My old antenna broke right above the base and I figured I would have to replace the entire antenna, cable and everything else which would be quite a tedious job as my cable is well covered by my dash. twisted a short connector sticking out of the base and just screwed this antenna on. Outstanding result! (Note) Because I had to rethread, I had exposed a small section of the new antenna. Simply slip a 1" piece of vacuum hose over the exposed area and you'll be indistinguishable from a full replacement! Very satisfied! Highly recommended!
