Review on Sunlite 03149-SU Q75/CL/E14 75W Dimmable Halogen Bulb for European Base, Clear, 1000 Lumens, 100 CRI – Long Life, Neutral White (1 Pack) by Emily Reyes

We bought our entertainment center abroad (Germany) and when we needed a replacement bulb for the lighting this bulb seemed to be the best solution. However, I found it too strong. It melted, ruptured the plastic casing and hit the shelf. This area is enclosed by a glass door. I didn't realize this had happened until I opened the glass door. Everything was covered in black soot and smelled of smoke and burnt plastic. The original bulbs were removed prior to shipping overseas, so I'm not sure what wattage they were, but I suspect it's not around 75 watts at the moment. I can't say exactly what happened, but I suspect the power was too high. If not, a bad lightbulb or a problem with our entertainment center? For uncertainty I'll rate this a three because it was a scary and potentially dangerous situation for us.
