I bought the new Soundblaster AE-7 because of its impressive hardware which should work well with my desktop 5.1 surround sound system and headphones due to the included DAC and bi-amp . . The card sounds great in speakers and headphones when working. As of this date (01/10/19) the AE-7 experiences "audio stop" on my Asus TUF Gaming X-570 Plus WiFi motherboard. This issue is reported to occur on all brands of PCIe 4.0 motherboards. Sound playback stops randomly and can only be resumed by changing the play modes in the included Creative software. This issue does not crash Windows 10 nor is it a hardware stop, it is driver related which means you the customer are out of luck until the Creative Drivers team (who are aware of the issue and are working hard to fix it fix) it can implement a solution. For now I should only rate this card 2 stars and recommend anyone building a new PC with the X-570 chipset to avoid this card for now. I will edit this review if and when a working driver is available.
