Cool stuff to try, a bit tricky to use

This was the first time I've used paper clay (don't let the name fool you, it's paper clay). I like that it dries very quickly and you can apply it to other surfaces without peeling off after drying. For example, I had a plastic lock whose turrets fell off (because I greased my fingers and dropped it). I used paper clay to redesign the towers and applied directly to the plastic. I let it dry completely and then sprayed it. It's rock solid and fully bonded to the plastic (no glue). On the other hand, it is a very crumbly material. It is very difficult to get a smooth surface like regular clay. When I work with it, it appears to be a rough, very dry, and crumbly material. I think you can do really cool stuff with it, but I hate how dry it is. The funny thing is that your hands are very velvety while you work (of course, after washing them afterwards).

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
