This is the only air dry clay I will be using.

This is the only air dry clay I will be using; everything else I tried was of lower quality. It won't break and is hard/soft enough to carve.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Something different

Easy to use, holds parts well.

I made a gnome treehouse out of this clay and I love it! Holds details very well! The tree and the mushroom on the tree are made from this clay. Smaller mushrooms, a frog, a gnome are sculptures.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Not sure

Perfect and easy to use

This clay was great, I used it to sculpt a tiny mask for a custom figure and even though I made the mask SUPER thin the clay still set perfectly and came out amazing. I am selling the figurine on an app called 'Mercari' if you would like to see more pictures of how well the mask dried and hardened.

Great for clay and dough

This is a self drying clay (for those of us who don't have a kiln) and comes in both terracotta and white. I've made everything from plaques to caskets to fine jewelry. The only downside is that you can't use it for groceries. No matter what coating or paint you put on it, it won't last; it's just for show. But for gifts of all kinds (including yourself!) it's a joy to use. Cleanup is easy (soap and water) and will take a while to dry depending on the thickness of your masterpiece, so patience…

I love love - Kraft

I love love love this clay! good investment for me, no cracks and ready to paint after drying! YUP! It's easy to work with and very pliable, also easy to add and sticks to itself (I diluted Elmer's glue with water between adding little bits). wet fingers. I also prep the clay half an hour before use by spraying and storing in an airtight container. After I'm done, I dry my hands and wash all my tools. My hands never feel dry after using DAS. I am 58 years old.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Cool stuff to try, a bit tricky to use

This was the first time I've used paper clay (don't let the name fool you, it's paper clay). I like that it dries very quickly and you can apply it to other surfaces without peeling off after drying. For example, I had a plastic lock whose turrets fell off (because I greased my fingers and dropped it). I used paper clay to redesign the towers and applied directly to the plastic. I let it dry completely and then sprayed it. It's rock solid and fully bonded to the plastic (no glue). On the other…

Works for me!

I am planning a special project that will be exhibited. I studied air dry clays online. I've tried a few that ripped. The most positive reviews concerned DAS. I tried. I kneaded it into manageable balls until soft. I kept my hands wet. I added water when it seemed a bit dry but not too much. I used almost the entire 2.2 lb block. I built a simple 10" conical man with an aluminum foil head. It was covered with 1/8 - 3/4 inch DAS - different thickness. I've read that clay that is air dried will…

Good reasons to buy or not to buy this clay.

I bought the clay at Michael's craft store about a day ago (I received a 16 ounce packet). The first thing I noticed when I opened it was the smell. It's a very chemical smell and really irritated me at first. I have worked with several different clays and several different air dried clays and this clay has the strongest odor I have ever encountered. However, when it is completely dry, it disappears. To be able to use it, I had to tilt it several times and keep adding a few drops of water…
