A while ago I purchased 2 hoods with this light bar for my 55 gallon aquarium. After lightning struck near my house, one of them stopped flashing and you had to keep flicking the switch to keep it on a constant light. Another storm and another close swipe and it eventually crashed (weird that it was the one and they were both hooked up to a surge protector). Unfortunately, this caused my already aggressive cichlid to become even more aggressive, so it got angry and killed all of its tankmates, except for a lone Pleco, who stayed on the dark side of the tank as "Monstro" loves the light side. was glad to see that I could. I received it 2 days later and now my tank is completely on fire again =).
