Review on 🌞 Portable Folding Solar Kit GP-PSK-130 by Go Power! with 10 Amp Solar Controller - 130W by Luis Nelson

The controller never gets overloaded, there are far better systems out there for less money!

I've had this panel for years and it charges but never at 14v+ like it should. The controller is worthless, replace the original one and the new one is no better than the original one. At $79, that's outrageously high given that similar 10 amp models that actually work like the Renogy sell for $30. I hooked it up to a standard van with 2 6 volt cycle batteries, I've used it with 2 different battery packs I have. Bought. In our normal usage, where phones, computers, etc. are simply lit and charged, the battery level rarely drops below 90% (as measured by the Trimetric battery monitor). It keeps our batteries fully charged as it works in medium charge mode or float mode. But if they keep discharging, we can't recharge in a day, even sitting here in the hot south Baja sun. I've done soft and hard reset many times but no improvement. The battery status indicator is extremely inaccurate, in full sun it usually reads 100% when my trimetric reads 90%. I do a soft reset and it goes to 90% and charges harder for a few minutes and then back to 100% and a trike charge. When the sun goes down it might read 75% while my trimetry reads 90%. It's completely inconsistent, so no wonder it doesn't switch to the correct loading mode. This is very frustrating when the battery is 84% charged and the charger is only producing 0.6 or 1.2 amps of charging current. It should run at 4 amps or better. A friend came and we hooked up his Renogy 200W portable to my RV. He immediately applied a high charge and quickly dialed the voltage to 14+ volts. After a few hours it said "full charge" and went into trickle mode, I checked inside and the trimetric showed 100%. That's never happened with the crappy GoPower system! This 200-watt Renogy system with a 20-amp controller is $336 here at Revain, compared to $409 for this 130-watt, 10-amp system that doesn't even work properly. I have raised this issue with GoPower several times. and they have no explanation or solution for this situation. Unbelievable! Once we return to the US I will be buying a Renogy system as well as a 10 amp Renogy controller which I am sure will solve the charging problem with this 130w system. The panels are fine, the problem is with the controller.
