ok. It's been about two months since all aspects of this Ctek have been used. This is a great charger. It charges in stages, and the instructions indicate what the charge voltage is at each charge stage. So you can check the voltage with a voltmeter coming out of this charger to make sure it is what is advertised. How do I know? When recovery occurs, the charge voltage is about 15V DC. This causes the solution in the battery to bubble up a bit and has to go somewhere to get out of the access caps, which you remove when you add water. It is this stirring of the sulfuric acid due to slight overcharging that helps knock the build up of white sulphate off the lead plates, thereby prolonging battery life. This Ctek is designed to provide regular maintenance to your battery, to keep it fully charged when the battery is stored, to gradually charge it fully when your battery is low, and to restore the battery to keep sulphates to a minimum keep. I don't think this Ctek is meant to revive a really old car battery. This Ctek is for periodic maintenance of failing batteries often used in cars, trucks, boats etc. (years without water, cover plate etc.). Honestly, I would recommend the CTEK US 7002. Yes, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for.
