Review on DisplayPort Port USB Output 2X2 Computers Support Wireless by Will Murphy

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Was going to send it back - now I'm (almost) fully satisfied with it

When I first tried to set this switch, it didn't recognize my second monitor, which had a different resolution, than my first. So I figured I'd have to send the device back - I had already printed out a return label. Then I decided to rescan the monitors. This time the scan seemed to take a long time. and it found the correct settings for my second monitor. Now works like a charm! And unlike many other (single monitor) KVM switches I've owned before, this one's heavy enough not to be dragged (and dragged off the desk) by relatively heavy and stiff HDMI/USB cables - it stays in place on the desk. Switching between the computers is done using the switches on the front panel. There's also a remote control, but I don't see any real use for it. It comes with an English user manual, but "Chinglish" could be improved as it's hard to read sometimes. The biggest downside for me is the brightness of the LEDs on the front (not that big of an issue to lower the rating). Two red LEDs indicate that the USB cables are properly connected to the two computers, and two green LEDs indicate which computer is selected. Once the device is properly configured, the red LEDs no longer convey any real information as they are always lit - only green. However, red LEDs are many times brighter than green ones - in my opinion even uncomfortably bright. So mine are now wrapped in a piece of insulating tape ;-)

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
