Review on Mares Avanti Quattro Plus Open Heel Bungee Strap Diving Fin by Jason Rogness

I've waited years to buy these but put it off because I had a pair (H2Odyssey Thruster) that I liked, for 1/3 the price but were some time hard to find them so i went ahead and bought them. In spring/summer/fall I swim to keep fit. I was shocked when I first kicked them because they were very difficult to step off and I couldn't figure out why at first because they are the same length and width as my other fins. After analysis and video confirmation, I found that they climb higher and rise to the surface (either due to stiffness or buoyancy) while my other fins remain 4-5 inches below the surface. Kicking low or backwards is fine, but they make long prone kicks to the surface very difficult. Another buyer also mentioned this. Given this problem, I cannot recommend them.
