Use with the new MacBook Air M1 is almost perfect. Ethernet, HDMI, two USB-3 Type-A ports (the most common) and a USB-C PD port, you can use it as a permanent home docking station, but it's small and light enough to carry around when you need it take away You can connect the charger that came with your computer to the USB-C PD port, giving you just one cable to connect to your laptop dock. The unique selling point of this docking station is of course the built-in M.2 SSD housing. It has multiple pinholes so you can attach cards of all standard sizes. Be careful when ordering, there are two types of M.2 SSD: SATA and NVMe. This case uses the less common SATA format, make sure the module you receive is labeled SATA, NVMe modules will fit the socket but will not work. I used the WD Blue module and it worked great. Super-fast external storage is a must, and even better if it's small enough to take with you on the go. Very happy with this fully featured docking station that strikes the perfect balance of features and portability.
